Welcome to My Life

Eat
Sleep
Train.

Tennis season is underway today, after our first "official" practice. Despite the fact that we STILL don't have a coach, and that half of team graduated last year, and all the JV players forgot their clearance form.

As much as I hate playing tennis in the hot sun, I'm looking forward to this season. Mainly because, my forehand is looking really good, and my backhand still is consistent. My serves are on, or at least they were today, and I'm feeling good about the season. I love tennis, mainly because it's an individual sport, besides track.

Oh, and to make things even more awesome, our team isn't going to suck as bad as I thought it would be. A German exchange student is on our team this year, and she is SICK. She's better than I thought she would be, very consistent, and pretty quiet. Her name is Annie, and I love her already. I hope she brings a lot to the team, and I can learn a thing or two from her.

Other than tennis season starting up, life is turning me round and round as usual. It feels so different to be an upperclassmen, to see small and puny freshmen wandering around lost. I have met new friends, sparked flames with old ones, and became content with where I am and where I need to be going.

I think I find a joy in seeing people fall in love. It really makes my heart smile, and even though we've only been in school for about 3 days, one of my friends is already trying his luck at a new transfer from Bakersfield. They're adorable together, and I hope it works out. I respect him a lot, and I'm praying for the best for him and his relationships. He hasn't had the best before, but I think that he's learned from his mistakes and knows where he should be headed.

As for me, I'm going to hold out. There's not really a rush for me to get involved in a relationship anytime soon, and I'm going to focus my attention on the AMAZING love God has for me, rather than an earthly love that could end in horrible hurt.

There's a truly, magical, and PERFECT love out there.
I just need to focus on it more.

"Gas Mask!"

Respectfully submitted,
Leah
